Women’s History Month is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean celebrating women stops here. We’ve put together a few tips and tricks to unleash your strong and confident self so you can continue to celebrate YOU.

Psychology Today notes, “confidence is not an innate, fixed characteristic. It’s an ability that can be acquired and improved over time.” Just like a muscle, you can work out your confidence to strengthen it, tone it, and keep it in shape.

Here are 5 ways to build and strengthen your inner confidence:

  1. Positive self-speak

Affirmations and mantras work to help the brain focus on a positive outlook. This practice may feel funny at first, but speaking kindly to yourself creates long-lasting change, in how you view yourself and the world. Pro tip: speak to yourself – either out loud or in your head – the way you would speak to a good friend. By switching your perspective to talking to ‘ your friend’ instead of yourself, you get to see you from a new angle and point of view.

  1. Routines

Humans thrive on order. When things feel chaotic, we strive to make sense of it all. Set yourself up for success by testing out different routines to bring you back to center, even on the most stressful of days. Whether it’s a run in the morning, a class on Recess each day, or a green drink and a few deep breaths, find something each day you can count on.

  1. Role Models

Find some inspiration by looking to those you admire and trust. For this specific trick, it may be best to step away from social media apps and look for someone you know personally that has accomplished a goal, overcome a challenge, or has a similar mindset. Set aside a few minutes a week to touch base with them, ask them questions, and learn from them. The best role models share their challenges along with their successes.

  1. Determination

Feeling a bit weak in that workout class? Not on your A-game in that meeting? Tap into your inner determination and resilience to build your confidence and realize the strength and power you have to keep pushing forward. Each day is a brand new one, which means more opportunity to push through the last 5 minutes of that workout or pitch a new idea to your team.

  1. Community + Support

No one should go it alone. Build up your inner confidence by surrounding yourself with others who naturally bring out your best you! Find a community and support network that lifts you, supports your endeavors and helps you recognize your inner light. On days you’re not feeling so confident in yourself, you can lean on these people to help remind you of your merit.

Happy Women’s History Month! We can’t wait to see your greatness.
